AMAIA AGIRRE MIGUÉLEZ (Gasteiz, 1983) has been a professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since 2008, currently teaching at the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology. She holds a degree and a PhD in Sociology, with a dissertation on negotiations in egalitarian couples entitled “Negotiation Processes in Egalitarian Couple Models” (EHU, 2015). The main conclusions of that research were published in the article “Everyday Negotiations in Egalitarian Couples” (Uztaro, 94).

Her research interests lie within feminism and include, among others, negotiations in couple relationships, romantic love, and the distribution of domestic and care work. For example, together with other colleagues, she has studied the impact of the economic crisis on care work and the division of household tasks (EHUA 15/20). She is currently participating in the project “New Solidarities, Reciprocities, and Alliances: The Emergence of Collaborative Spaces and the Redefinition of Citizenship”, funded by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (MINECO) (code CSO2017-82903-R; period 2018–2021).
